Julia Mitchell is an accredited therapist, with a private practice in Roundwood, a village in the Wicklow Mountains, less than an hour away from Dublin city centre. Trained first in general nursing, from 1979, she went on to specialise in psychiatry, and then completed a 5 year course in Bristol, qualifying as an Integrative Psychotherapist in 1996. Her theoretical approach draws from Psychodynamic and Person Centred approaches, and in recent years has become increasingly drawn to Somatic Psychotherapy, a sensitive and gentle approach to safely working with the body.
In 2002 she first participated in Primal Integration Facilitation, and participated in a group held monthly for over 2 years. She then went on to train in Primal Integration, becoming a Certified Primal Integration Facilitator. She has been in private practice for 24 years, and maintains her accreditation with The Irish Association of Counselling and Therapy. She has also been providing supervision for therapists and counsellors since 1996.
